Giving Tree Project
The Giving Tree Project for 2013 will again
benefit families with students at Currier Elementary School in West
Chicago. Our diaconate is working with them so our church can help
provide Christmas gifts for families in need. In the foyer a
tree is set up with ornaments.
Take a GREEN Ornament if you want to give a
NEED gift. A NEED gift is an article of winter clothing in the size on the back
of the ornament. Use the RED ornaments if you want to give a WANT gift. If you
take an ornament please sign the sign-up sheet to let us know which one you
took. We are also helping the families provide food and toiletry needs by
giving one $20-25 dollar gift card from Wal-Mart, Target, or Jewel to each
Please bring in the gift unwrapped by Dec. 15
so we can get the gifts organized and delivered to the parents before
Christmas. If you have any questions, contact Becky Chin at (630) 664-5958 or email@example.com. Thank you!
Christmas Gift for Pastors and Staff
It has been our tradition to give the pastors
and staff each a monetary Christmas gift. Please join us in showing our
appreciation for the Christian nurture we have been given during the past
year. If you wish to participate please submit your check made out to
Batavia Covenant Church marked “Pastors and Staff Christmas Gift”. We
will split up the total and pass it on. Please submit your gift no
later than Dec. 22 so that we can present the gifts in time for Christmas.
Please contact Tom Wright or Tim Hjelm with any questions.

October 2013 Restrepo newsletter
Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ,
(continued from last week)
Visiting Churches and Different Pastors’
Meetings, Bible Studies and Devotionals
Most of our time now has been dedicated to
getting acquainted with Covenant pastors and leaders, to listen and learn from
them, and respond to whatever we are requested for providing support.
Lisandro with the Youth Group at Saint Ines del
Monte Covenant Church
We were invited for a whole weekend to one of
the Covenant churches about 40 minutes from the city of Oaxaca. Patty led some
time with the children and Lisandro was in charge of the time with the
youth. There were about 20 little ones and 30 youth who enjoyed having a
dynamic Bible Study, prayer time, and lots of games and laughs! We loved this
time with beautiful people in an amazing place. We will be back.
At training with Fuentes Libres and youth from
the whole district
Fuentes Libres is a Covenant ministry whose
focus is economic development in vulnerable communities.
Through community banks and Bible Studies, we
have greatly impacted many Oaxacan women and their families. We have been
invited to join their ministry by providing support with mentoring and training
that would build their capacity and expand their vision. (continues next week)
